Here are 7 tips for storing PVC profiles

Framex – quality under any circumstances

1

During transportation and storage, profiles are placed on pallets and wrapped in polyethylene film. The packaging should protect the profiles and their surfaces from contamination, deformation, and mechanical damage It is prohibited to throw or excessively bend the profiles during unloading.

Profiles should be stored in a closed, dry room in a horizontal position, without any deformations, and the distance between supports should not exceed 1 meter.

The polyethylene packaging should be opened at least on one side to remove any condensation that has formed inside the profile chambers during transportation.

3

It is unacceptable to store profiles on surfaces treated with chemically active substances, as there is a risk of local discoloration of the profiles!

To avoid the formation of longitudinal scratches on the face surfaces of the profiles, it is not allowed to extract them from racks or remove them from pallets by pulling in the longitudinal direction. It is permissible to move profiles only in the transverse direction.

5

Profiles must be protected from moisture and direct sunlight at all stages of work, starting from the storage phase up to the installation of glazing.

When storing the profile in an open area or an unheated room, it must be kept in the production area for 24 hours before processing, until the minimum temperature throughout the section reaches 18°C. Processing a cold or damp profile is unacceptable. This will result in chips on the cut and milled surfaces, as well as insufficient strength of the weld seam.

7

During storage, the profile must not be exposed to powerful sources of heat (such as sunlight, heating devices, etc).
