A panoramic window is a floor-to-ceiling glazing. In this type of glazing, windows replace a large part of the wall, or the entire wall.

Service. In cold weather, a room with a panoramic window requires additional heating, and in hot periods, constant air conditioning.
Noise insulation. Lower noise insulation compared to standard windows.

To address the issue of heat loss, energy-saving windows can be installed.
Due to frequent exposure to sunlight, the structure may overheat. This can be prevented by using energy-saving double-glazed windows, tinting the glass, or using shutters (for the warmer months).
To improve inadequate noise insulation, choose double-glazed windows with chambers of different thicknesses or use acoustic films.
To prevent icing and fogging of the windows, heat sources are installed near the windows to create a thermal curtain. To eliminate condensation, ensure constant air ventilation and circulation.
The large amount of light and sun rays can lead to fading and discoloration of objects both inside and outside the home. Therefore, it's advisable not to place plants in the area where rays reflect off the windows, nor to place any objects there. Materials near the window space should be resistant to the effects of sunlight.
Large windows need to be periodically washed and cleaned of streaks. If such windows are not on the ground floor, it might be necessary to hire professionals to clean the glass from the outside. Additionally, a solution is to apply a photocatalytic compound to the glass by the manufacturer. This gives the windows a self-cleaning property. Under the influence of sunlight, dirt decomposes directly on the glass and is washed away by the nearest rain or a hose spray.
To prevent wide visibility into the room from the street and enhance privacy, windows can be covered with tinted film or a mirror coating.
When a wall is almost entirely made of glass, it's important to consider the strength and reliability of the double-glazed unit. To reinforce panoramic windows, tempered glass or laminated glass (triplex) can be used.
Due to the heavy weight of the structure, there is often a need for additional reinforcement of the areas where it will be installed.

A dual locking mechanism that allows the sash to be fully opened or secured in a slightly ajar position for ventilation.

Parallel-sliding

A convenient opening method when there is a lack of space for a swinging frame. The opening mechanism allows the frames to slide parallel to each other. Such structures provide good airtightness and thermal insulation.

Fold-sliding

This mechanism is gaining popularity in our country. The advantage of this system is that the structure can be fully retracted, merging, for example, the living room and the winter garden.

Lift-and-slide

Such frames are very warm and reliable, they offer good airtightness and are noiseless when opened. Their main disadvantage is the high cost of installation.

Panoramic windows are characterized by their distinctive swing design and can have either a mullion or a transom

Windows with a mullion. A mullion is a central horizontal or vertical element of a window structure. Essentially, it is a specialized plastic profile that has internal steel reinforcement. The mullion serves as a support for the sash and visually divides the window opening into several parts. Its main function is to stabilize the structure. The advantage of this system is that each sash can be opened or tilted independently of the others.

Windows with Georgian bars. The Georgian bar mechanism for fixing sashes allows for the elimination of the mullion, that is, the ‘extra’ vertical partitions dividing the window frame. This resembles a double-leaf door – by opening both sashes, we get a single opening. Typically, one of the sashes can swing open for ventilation, while the other can only be opened.
